Betty Reeg was commissioned by Governor Heineman in 2006. She spent her youth in New Jersey, graduated from Riverside High School in 1961 and attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. Betty then decided to pursue a nursing career at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and graduated in 1966. She moved to Nebraska in 1967 with her husband, Bill, who was raised in Wayne. Betty worked as a Registered Nurse at Providence Medical Center in Wayne until retiring in 2000. She has served on the Wayne County Red Cross Board, is a Senior Citizens Center volunteer, held several offices in Chapter AZ P.E.O. and in 2002 was elected to the Wayne City Council. Bill and Betty own Arnie’s Ford-Mercury in Wayne and are active in the Nebraska New Car Dealers Association as well as being Trustees at Wayne State College. They have three children living in Omaha, Alaska and Denver – all in medical careers. Bill and Betty enjoy time with their children, three grandchildren and travel.
